Class and Camp Policies

Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a positive dance experience!

General Guidelines for Dance Classes:

Dance shoes are not recommended to be worn outside of the building.

Food or gum is not permitted in dance class; it can be a serious choking hazard.

Dancers should be reminded to use the restroom prior to class.

It is recommended that dancers arrive in the classroom with their dance shoes clearly labeled in a carrying bag.

While class is in session, dancers will change shoes in the dance room and should refrain from leaving the room. Spirited Feet staff will assist in changing dancers’ shoes.

For the safety of your children, please escort dancers ages 3 to 7 to and from the building.

Please keep ill children home.

Viewing policy:

We ask that parents and family members please observe from outside of the dance room while classes are in session. During select viewing times, parents and family members may be invited in to observe at the discretion of the instructor. This policy helps to minimize the distractions and disturbances while Spirited Feet instructors are conducting class.

Class Placement:

Placement for Spirited Feet classes is based on the age/grade of the student. Dancers must be three years old and potty trained by the first class of the session for which they are enrolling. To enroll in a Spirited Feet Summer Dance Camp, students must be at least three years old on the first day that camp starts. No exceptions will be made.

Registration & Tuition Policies:

Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Classes will be closed to further enrollment once classes have reached a predetermined capacity. Tuition is recommended to be paid in full in a single payment prior to or on the first day of class for the session. If a student drops prior to the first day of class a full refund can be given. If a student drops after the first week of class and prior to the third week of class a prorated refund can be given. No refunds can be given for students dropping after the third week of class.

Classes:

Classes are offered in two sessions: Fall session starts in September and runs through November; Spring session starts in February and runs through April for students ages 3 to 18. Please see Class Placement Policy.

Four day Summer Dance Camps for students ages 3 to 8 and Dance Camps for students ages 9+ are offered at various host churches in July and August. Dancers must already be three years old and potty trained on the first day that camp begins to enroll in (a) Spirited Feet Summer Dance Camp(s).

Based on available space, new students can be accepted into classes until the third week of Fall or Spring sessions.

We cannot offer a partial refund or reimbursement for absence from scheduled classes.

Inclement Weather:

In the event of severe weather or snowfall, please check our website at www.spiritedfeet.com for news and cancellation postings. For Saturday classes, it is the parents’ responsibility to check the website for class cancellations.   In the event that a class date needs to be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be provided. Each session includes one provisional week of instruction to cover this situation.

Safety:

All young dancers ages 3 to 7 years old must be escorted by an adult to and from the building. Please take all safety precautions by locking your car doors and leaving valuables at home as our host facilities serve a variety of people and have high traffic in and out of the facilities on all days of the week. Spirited Feet and Woodbury Lutheran Church cannot be held liable for lost or stolen items.

Session Show:

Our session shows are held at the end of both Fall and Spring sessions. Students are not required to participate. The shows can prove to be a rewarding worship experience for those who do. Spirited Feet is unique in that there are no costume costs for the show. At the show, dancers are asked to wear their yellow Spirited Feet T-shirt along with any type of black bottoms.
